When a current drawn from a cell , in the external circuit it flows from anode to cathode and inside the cell through electrolyte , it flows from cathode to anode to maintain continuity . The electrolyte offers certain resistance to flow of current . This is called as internal resistance of a cell .
• FACTORS AFFECTING INTERNAL RESISTANCE
#Distance between two electrodes . : - Directly proportional.
#Area of cross section of the electrodes :- inversely proportional.
