Factors affecting the turning of a body:-
- The magnitude of the force applied.
- the perpendicular distance of the line of action of the force from the axis of rotation or pivoted point.

- Take a body which is poivoted at O.
- Let force F apply on body horizontally on the body with its line of the action in the direction of AP.
- Let AP be the point on rock.
- The force is unable to produce linear motion of body in its direction because the body is not free to move, but this force turns the body about the vertical axis passing through point O.
- Anti-clockwise rotation can be seen.

They also depends on:-
- Movement of force
- at the pivoted point
