1) Cytoskeleton are protein filaments that give shape and mechanical strength to the cell. 2) The functions done by the cell. For example, red blood cells flow through the blood vessels. They carry oxygen and are round in shape. Muscle cells are spindle-shaped that help in contraction and relaxation

They may be sperical, rounded, cuboidal, tubular, discoidal or irregular.

It also depends on the cytoskeleton.

for e.g

spindle shape of the muscle cell helps it to contract and relax.

so as the sperm cell has a tail to help it posses motion and help it move..there are many more examples such as the blood cell RBCs they are concave shape to help them cucut through the fluid.
