amount of water in the air and the temperature of an area are both part of an area's climate. Moisture speeds up chemical weathering. Weathering occurs fastest in hot, wet climates. It occurs very slowly in hot, dry climates.

Weathering is a natural process in the life of rock which results in the degradation of hard rock into sand, clay, sediment or substance which can be easily dissolved by water.

There are two types weathering that have been discovered to be occurring in rocks.

They are  

  • Physical Weathering  
  • Chemical Weathering
