Bachendri Pal was born on 24 May 1954 and she is the first Indian women who scaled mount Everest.

She was born in a middle-class family but it was her passion which kept her moving.

She was born in a village which is situated in the Himalayas and she always wanted to scale the Himalayas as well. She did her first mountaineering when she was 12 years.
