the five kingdom of classification are :-
1) kingdom monera ( prokaryotic bacteria and blue - green algae )
2) kingdom protista( unicellular eukaryotic organisms- protozoa, fungi and algae )
3) kingdom fungi( multinucleate higher fungi)
4) kingdom plantae( multinucleate green plants and advanced algae)
5) kingdom animalia .(multicellular organisms)
Carlos Linnaeus proposed it . Further a German zoologist named as E.H. Heackel in 1866 raised the third kingdom protista for unicellular organisms. Robert H. Whittaker in 1959 proposed fourth kingdom, Monera , for the bacteria which are prokaryotic and fifth, kingdom fungi for the fungi which lack chlorophyll , and obtain their food through absorption. Carl woese in 1977 further divided kingdom monera into archaebacteria and eubacteria..
