Erythrocytes , also known as Red Blood Corpuscle , contain the iron containing pigment called heamoglobin that helps in the transport of oxygen , carbon dioxide and other gases by blood .

Blood contains four constituents - Plasma , erythrocytes , leukocytes and thrombocytes.

The plasma lacking fibrinogen is called Serum .
