(i) If cell is placed in a hypotonic solution, then the cell will gain water by osmosis.
This is done so as to maintain the presssure between cell and environment

These types of solutions have actually higher water concentration than the cell.

(ii) Tranpiration is the process by which green plant releases water in the form of vapuors.

This process actually created the pressure inside the plants roots to get reduced and thus allow the xylem to suck water.
