There are various methods which are currently taken in use to stop food spoilage like :

1. By cooling :
Lower temperature prevents spoilage of food because it, retards the growth of bacteria, inactivates the enzymes present in food items.

2. By dehydration :
Dehydration is removal of water from fruits and vegetables. It reduces the moisture content of food and retards the growth of food spoiling microorganisms.

3. By using salt and sugar :
The presence of high concentration of salt removes water from the food materials. This retards the bacterial growth to prevent food spoilage.
