The force which is respobsible in binding the nucleons in the nucleus of an atom and keeping it stable is nuclear force.

This is a short range force and its range extends upto ~10^-15 (femto meter)

Nuclear force is only responsible for the "stability of nuclei".

Explanation:

  • The nuclear or atomic particles that are present in side are binded together and keep in their place due to the force acting on them that is present in the nucleus which is known to as nuclear force, that is very much similar to the gravitational pull.
  • Due to the force in the centre the electrons or subatomic particles keep on rotating or moving in their places like the gravitational pull of the sun is responsible for the planetary motions.
