Located in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, it is one of the largest forts
in India. The fort was constructed by Rao Jodha, the chief
of Rathore clan, in 1460. It is situated on an elevated
platform of around 400 feet and has thick wall boundaries.
The fort has seven gates, including Jayapol, which was built
by Maharaja Man Singh to commemorate his victories over
Jaipur and Bikaner armies. Inside the fort, there are several
palaces known for their beautiful carvings and expansive courtyards, namely Moti
Mahal, Phool Mahal, Sheesha Mahal, Sileh Khana and Daulat Khana. The Chamunda Devi
temple and a museum are also a part of the fort.
