it resemblance in fundamental characteristics to the Silurian ad Devonian members of Rhyniopsida.

class Lycopsida:

it has long evolutionary history and represented both by extant and extinct genera.It is originated from lower Devonian period of Paleozoic era.

Class Sphenopsida:

it is represented by only one living genus (Equisetum and about 18 extinct forms.It is originated during the Devonian period of Paleozoic era.

Class Pteropsida :

This group is commonly known as 'ferns'. it is originated from the back of the Devonian period of Paleozoic era.
