The components of windows are the desktop, icons, My computer, network neighborhood, recycle bin, taskbar, and start button.

Desktop:

  • On top of this serves as the backdrop for all other pieces.
  • The Windows desktop can be compared to the top of your conventional office desk.
  • You can alter items on your Windows desktop as you can move papers around, conceal some items in drawers, and add and remove items from your desk.

Icons:

  • In Windows 95 and Windows applications, icons are images that stand in for programs (the Internet, Word for Windows, Excel, and so forth), folders, files, printer information, machine information, and so forth.
  • Icons are typically used to open folders and files.

My Computer:

  • Your computer's hard drive, floppy and CD drives, applications, folders, files, and other items are all represented by the My Computer icon.
  • To open an icon and see its contents, double-click on it.

Network Neighborhood:

  • This icon shows other computers that are linked to yours by Microsoft or other network types, like NT or Netware.

Recycle Bin:

  • Deleted items are stored in the Recycle Bin until you empty the trash.
  • After deleting objects, you can retrieve them from the Recycle Bin, including files, programs, photographs, and other types of data.
  • However, after emptying the garbage, you can no longer take anything out of the container.

Task Bar:

  • The Start button, any open application or window buttons, and the time are all located on the taskbar.
  • A taskbar button can be clicked to launch the window or program it refers to.
  • To open programs, documents, help, and other things use the Start button.

Start button:

  • When you click the Start button, a menu appears from which you may select whether to launch a program, view a document, personalize Windows, look for a file or folder, receive assistance, or end Windows 95 programs.
