Bulk of the land (mainland) appears as the Northern plains (temperate zone north of 23°.45) & the Deccan plateau (roughly south of 23°.45).
While considering the country politically, off shore islands situated in the Bay of Bengal at 1500 km ('Andamans & Nicobars') as well as those in Arabian Sea at 600 km ('Lakshadweep' =100,000 islands) is considered as a physical division.....
