\textbf{Ruminants} like cows have four chambers in their stomach, which are as follows :

1. Rumen

2. Reticulum

3. Omasum

4. Abomasum

The grass eating animals such as cow, buffalo, horse etc. swallow half chewed grass and store it in a part of their stomach called rumen.

Here the food get partially digested, which is called Cud . When the animals are not eating, the cud returns to the mouth in small lumps and is chewed. This process is called \textbf{Rumination}
