• British rule in India entered via the mode of trade as the East India Company came as a trading company and slowly overtook the complete platform of trade of the country and hence significantly the control over the economy, resources and the workforce of the country.
• They brought in the idea of the third world country where the country like India was inferior and needed to learn from the developed country and the British powers could make them go better.
• Diwani Rights - By taking the Diwani rights the Britishers got the power and rights to collect land revenue that gave a significant economic and administrative control symbolically and literally.
• Annexation was carried out widely to take over the territories of the different part of India and even opted for the subsidiary alliance at few places where needed.
• A doctrine of lapse was also adopted as a policy that worked on the lines of increasing and spreading the control of the British power in India.
