so gas evolved is co2 or carbon dioxide
the simplest way to recognize this gas is pass it through lime water if it turns milky then it shows its presence

carbon dioxide is ur answer...
the evolved gas turns lime water milky and has no effect on filter paper dipped in potassium dichromate
