Answer: HCl + NaHCO₃(aq) ⇒ NaCl + H₂O + CO₂↑

From the above reaction, the carbon-dioxide is evolved when when HCl reacts with sodium hydrogen carbonate.

It can be identified if it is passed through lime water (CaO) and it turns into lime milky water.
