When an Acid reacts with Metal it will produce correspondingSalt and 'Hydrogen Gas'
i.e.
Acid+Metal------->Salt +Hydrogen gas
For Instance: HCl+Zn------>ZnCl2+Hydrogen Gas
We can test the presence of this gas by taking a Ignited candle or Matchstick to the mouth of the apparatus that can be test tube
It's presence can be ensured by a 'pop sound'
Thank You
