Answer:

When Hydrochloric acid reacts with Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate, Carbon Dioxide is released along with metal salt and water.

HCl(aq) + NaHCO3(s) → NaCl(aq) + H2O(l) + CO2(g)

CO2 can be identified by passing it through lime water{Ca(OH)2}.

As soon as it passes through Calcium Hydroxide, it turns the lime water milky due to the formation of Calcium Carbonate(CaCO3) which is a white substance insoluble in water.

Ca(OH)2(aq) + CO2(g) → CaCO3(s) + H2O(l)

Hope it helps , this answer is completely original.
