Rice is a staple food in many states of India.
Central Rice Research Institute has developed high yielding varieties of seeds i.e. CR Dhan 205, CR Dhan 306 and CRR 451.
They have been introduced after having been tested for three years, under different climatic conditions.
The Institute has added on 146 varieties of rice, since its establishment in 1946.
