The name of the hill that lies on the junction of Eastern Ghats and Western Ghats is Anaimalai Hills.

Anaimalai Hills :-
Anaimalai Hills is also known as 'Elephant Hills'. Anaimalai Hill are located at a junction of the Eastern Ghats and the Western Ghats and have a general Northwest-Southeast trend. Anaimudi peak lies at the extreme Southwestern end of the range, which is 8842 feet (2695 meters) high and is the highest peak in Western Ghats and Southern India. Anaimalai Hills are formed by fault-block movements. The Anaimalai Hills descend to form a series of terraces about 3300 feet (1000 meters) high. Dense mountain forests including Rosewood, Sandalwood, Teak and sago palms cover most of the region. The soils are mottled red and brown containing iron oxide and aluminium oxide. The soils are used as building material mixed with mortar and in road construction. The economy of this region is mostly based on hunting and shifting cultivation. There are coffee, tea, and rubber plantations where the hills have been cleared of forests. Industries are mainly household and comprising of basket weaving, bidi manufacturing, metal articles and coir mat.
