Pituitary Gland - Also called as MASTER GLAND as it regulates secretion of other glands. It secrets GROWTH HORMONE and regulates growth of the body. It's deficiency may cause dwarfness and it's excess secretion cause giantism.
Thyroid Gland - It secretes THYROXINE HORMONE which regulates metabolism of carbohydrates, fats, proteins etc. in our body.
It's deficiency may cause a disease called GOITRE.
It can be avoided by eating iodised salt.
Adrenal Gland - It secretes adrenaline hormone that helps during emergency. It increases BP , Heart rate etc.
Testis - It secretes TESTOSTERONE HORMONE ( MALE SEX HORMONE) that is associated with changes in puberty ( Enlargement of penis and testis , Growth of Public Hair , moustache and beard etc.)
Ovaries - It secretes OESTROGEN & PROGESTERONE (FEMALE SEX HORMONE) that is associated with changes in Puberty like Development of mammary glands (Breast) , growth of hairs in armpits , enlargement of vagina etc.
Thymus - It is located in the Thoracic Cavity and Neck. It is involved in the development of immune system.
