There are three main hormones which are secreted when a woman is pregnant.

Progesterone

Oxytocin

Relaxin

HPL ( Human Placental Lactogen )

PROGESTERONE:- Progesterone is secreted to prevent uterine contractions that may disturb the growing embryo. The hormone also prepares the breasts for lactation.It makes environment suitable for growth and help to hold the foetus in Uterus.

OXYTOCIN:- After completion of gastetion period oxytocin starts contraction in uterine wall and dilation of cervix.After completion of gastetion period oxytocin starts contraction in uterine wall and dilation of cervix.Oxytocin also helps in milk ejection reflex.

RELAXIN:- Relaxin inhibits the contraction of Uterus and Cervix which helps in Uterus to sustain pregnancy upto full gastetion period.
