the hormone responsible for reabsorption of water in nephrons is ADH (anti-diuretic hormone also called vasopressin) The more ADH present, the more water can pass through.
Opening and closing of the stomata is regulated due to turgor changes in the guard cells. when the turgidity increases, the guard cells contract and the stomatal pore opens. when turgidity decreases, the pore closes.
('turgid' means swollen. in case of stomata, it was the amount of water in the guard cells that kept them open).
