Name the hydrogen halide which is liquid at room temperature !!!
Answers
Answer:
In the following hydrogen halide HF, HCl, HBr, Hl given, the hydrogen floride (HF) becomes the liquid gas at room temperature whereas other hydrogen halides becomes gas
HI BRO,
hydrogen flouride is liquid at room temperature.
Explanation:
HF has strong hydrogen, so the force between molecules is stronger for this than in other hydrogen halides .HF molecule is very polor i.e. they have a negative end(flourine end) and a positive end (hydrogen) this polarity greatly attracts other HF molecules towards each. As hydrogen bonding is also present between HF molecules, which creates large attraction between a H atom of a HF molecule and an F atom of other HF molecule.
please tell me if this helps you.
