defects are of two types
1 stochiometric defects
2 non stochiometric defects

stochiometric defects are of greater importance which includes schotky defect and Frenkel defect

in schotky defect, the metal cations Leve the
metal leaving an empty space in Frenkel defect metal cations or anions occupy interstistial sites. AgBr exhibits both the defects.
another major defect is the f centres where electrons occupy the space left by cations when the leave crystal. This gives colours to the crystals
