Desert / arid soil.

The weathering of basic igneous rocks leads to the formation of Arid soil that results due to wind activities. This type of soil is high in the salt content but it lacks nutrients as its texture is sandy and its colour is brown or red. Due to its texture it lacks moisture because it has a low water holding capacity thus water infiltration is always restricted.

These soils are majorly found in north Gujarat and the southern part of Punjab.

Answer:

Black soil is formed due to the weathering of basic igneous rocks

Explanation:

Black soil formed due to the weathering by the volcanic eruption, due to eruption underlying igneous rocks are eroded in the form of magma which is in the semi molten material. These magma evolved from underground and settles in the surface of the earth and solidified, these process is responsible for the formation of Deccan plateau which contains the black soil or cotton soil. It looks black in colour because of Titanium ferrous magnetite in its composition.
