Thanks for your question...?
So let's understand in deep.
⭐⭐ Potential Difference⭐⭐⭐
The difference in potential between the positive and negative terminals of a cell is the potential difference of that cell. This potential difference is caused by chemical reactions occurring inside the cell. The potential difference sets the electrons in motion and results in the flow of electricity through a conducting wire connected to the two ends of the cells.
!! The amount of work done to carry a unit positive charge from point A to point B is called the electric potential difference between the two points !!
Potential difference is denoted by capital letter V .
Hence,
Potential Difference between two points = Work/Total charge transferred,
Means, V = W/Q
1 V = 1J/1C , the unit of potential difference in SI system is volt.
⏫⭐⭐ The instrument which is used to measure the potential difference⭐⭐⭐⏬
The instrument which is used to measure the potential difference between the two ends of the conductor is called the 'Voltmeter'.
Voltmeter is used to measure the potential difference between two points in the circuit.
⭐⭐ How this instrument is connected in an electric circuit⭐⭐⭐
There are two types of method for connecting a Voltmeter in an electric circuit.
1.) When Resistors are connected in Series combination.
In series they are connected to measure the potential difference between two ends points.
When a Voltmeter connected is a series combination the potential difference between the two extremes of the arrangement is equal to the sum of the potential difference across individual resistors.
2.) When Resistors are connected in parallel combination .
Here is the Same work of the Voltmeter to measure the potential difference between the two ends points.
When the Voltmeter is connected in the parallel combination then the potential difference across all resistor is the same.
I hope this will helps you.....
Thanks.
