Magnesium Hydroxide is the base and Sulphuric Acid is the acid which combines to form magnesium sulphate and water. And the reaction in which acid and base react to form salt and water is called Neutralization Reaction.

The ions present in magnesium sulphate are Magnesium with valency 2 and Sulphate with valency 2.

Hope it is helpful...
