The name of jagirdar who had imposed a new tax named " chanwari tax" was Rao Krishna Singh.

• The situation of farmers was already miserable due to various types of taxes and due to severe famine of 1899-1900 CE.

• Even after all these conditions ,Rao Krishna Singh imposed Chanwari tax on the farmers in 1903 , under this tax every person had to deposit 5 rupees in the estate treasury on the occasion of his daughter's marriage.
