The Siege of Multan was an extended battle between the state of Multan and the British East India Company. The battle lasted between 19 April 1848, when a revolution in the city against the ruler forced by the East India Company which accelerated the Second Anglo-Sikh War, and 22 January 1849.
Diwan Mulraj was the leader of the Sikh rebellion against the British from Multan. Many other Indian communities also revolted against are Maria, Gonds, Dhurwas, Haj. The purpose of the revolution was against the British forbidden the tribal people to use the wood of the forests.
