The rebellion against the British at Lahore and Multan was by Gunda Dhur who was supported by the Indian tribal


It was a set of Indian communities, that included Maria, Gonds, Dhurwas, Hajwas etc.


The purpose of the rebellion was against the British who made it illegal for the the tribal people to use the wood of the forests they had occupied for their use. Gunda Dur organised the people to fight for their forests.
