• The locomotory appendages of cockroach on the basis of external morphology :

The body of cockroach is segmented and divided into three distinct segments- head, thorax and abdomen. The three pairs of legs in cockroach help them in locomotion, these are attached to the thorax part of the body. The prothoracic leg is close to the cockroach's head, other is the middle leg known as mesothoracic leg and the very long leg called as metathoracic leg.
