Main constituents of biogas are :

1. Methane (CH4) around 55 -70%
2. Carbon dioxide (CO2) around 30 - 45%
3. Small amount of Hydrogen sulphide, ammonia and moisture.

It is considered as ideal domestic fuel because it doesn't produce smoke hence there is no pollution due to biogas.

Biogas produce a large amount of heat also.
