Gandhi returned India in 1915, thereafter he organized the satyagrah andolan in different places at different times as follows:
(1) 1916-Champaran, Bihar
this was to inspire the peasants to struggle against oppressive plantation system
(2) 1917-Kheda district of Gujrat
this was to support the peasants which were not able to pay the revenue due to crop failure and a plague. they were demanding the revenue collection to be relaxed.
(3) 1918-Ahemdabad
this styagrah was organized amongst the cotton mill workers.
