Mandatory signs, or Blue safety signs as they are often commonly known, are recognisable by a white pictogram surrounded by a blue background.

Mandatory symbols are signs that are mandatory on the traffic which uses a certain area of the road. These signs imply what must one do, instead of what one must not do. Mandatory Road signs are normally round in shape and have a border of red colour. Some of them are blue in colour. The 'Stop' symbol is an octagon shape and the 'Give Way' symbol is a triangular shape.

Violation of these signs will lead to heavy fines and penalties. Moreover, violation of these could result in major accidents too.

Names of the mandatory symbol are:-

  • Stop.
  • Give Way.
  • Vehicles Prohibited In Both Directions.
  • All Motor Vehicles Prohibited.
  • Truck Prohibited.
  • No Entry.
  • One Way.
