  • Fuse wire is made from an alloy of 'lead and tin'. Alloy of lead and tin has a low melting point and so is used for making the fuse wire.
  • Connecting wire is made from copper. Copper is abundantly available and a cost effective materials for making connecting wires.
  • Nichrome is used for making heating element. This is because nichrome is 'highly resistive' and does not undergo oxidation at room temperature.
  • 'Tungsten' is used for making 'filaments' of bulb because of its resistivity.
