Methods For obtaining metals of very High Purity !!
Extremely pure silicon and germanium are needed for semi-conductors .
Similarly the uranium to be used as Fuel in nuclear reactor should be ultra pure.
It has been calculated that uranium should not contain more the 1 part per million (ppm) of boron as impurity.
The following two methods are used to get ultra pure metals.
- Zone Refining.
- Can Ariel Method.
