a) A bacterium called Vibrio cholerae causes cholera infection. The deadly effects of the disease are the result of a toxin the bacteria produces in the small intestine. The toxin causes the body to secrete enormous amounts of water, leading to diarrhea and a rapid loss of fluids and salts (electrolytes

b) Typhoid and cholera are endemic, and cause epidemics, in many developing countries. Typhoid and paratyphoid (enteric fevers) are caused by Salmonella enterica serovar Typhi and serovars Paratyphi A, B and. Cholera is caused by Vibrio cholerae serotype O1 and serotype O139 synonym Bengal

c) Chickenpox is an infection caused by the varicella-zoster virus. It causes an itchy rash with small, fluid-filled blisters. Chickenpox is highly contagious to people who haven't had the disease or been vaccinated against it. Today, a vaccine is available that protects children against chickenpox.

d) Polio, or poliomyelitis, is a disabling and life-threatening disease caused by the poliovirus. The virus spreads from person to person and can infect a person's spinal cord, causing paralysis (can't move parts of the body).

e)A disease caused by a plasmodium parasite, transmitted by the bite of infected mosquitoes.

The severity of malaria varies based on the species of plasmodium.
