  • tea
  • coffee

Favourable conditions for Tea :

  • Temperature — 20° to 30°C
  • Rainfall — 150 to 200 cms.
  • Soil — Well drained soils
  • Labour — Cheap, abundant and skilled labour
  • Areas — Assam, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and Kerala

Favourable conditions for coffee:

  • Temperature - 15°C to 28°C
  • Rainfall — 150 to 200 cms.
  • Soil — Rich, well drained, loamy soil
  • Labour — Cheap labour is essential
  • Areas — Hills around Nilgiris, Karnataka,Kerala and Tamil Nadu
