Krishnadevraya is considered the greatest king of the Vijayanagar empire. He was not just an abled ruler but fond of music. He was given credit for the construction of musical pillars of the Vitthala temple at Hampi. His court was adorned by eight Telugu poets and the assembly called Ashtadigajjas. He composed Amuktamalyada, well-celebrated Telugu poem.
