Ans.
Krebs cycle occurs in mitochondrial matrix of eukaryotic cells and results in formation of six NADH molecules, two FADH2 molecules, and two ATP molecules.
The hydrogen carrier molecules or NADH and FADH2 molecules, produced during Krebs cycle enter to electron transport chain to transfer their electrons to the oxygen and turn back into NAD+ and FAD as these oxidized forms are required for glycolysis and Krebs cycle again.
During the transfer of electron though electron transport chain, they generate an electron gradient that is used for the formation of cell energy, in the form of ATP molecules.
