Plastids is the cell organnel which is known as kitchen of cell.

Plastids are of three types, one is called as Chloroplast, which contains a green pigment called chlorophyll. And this green pigment helps to prepare food for cell through process of photosynthesis.

So, that's why we call it kitchen of the cell.
