✐The two organelles I would expect in a rapidly

respiring tissue are mitochondria and

peroxisomes. The mitochondria are the engines

that use oxygen to generate energetic active

species such as ATP and NADP which are used

to do the cell’s work. The peroxisomes are there

to transform and mop up excess reactive oxygen

species (ROS) which could do damage in a

rapidly respiring tissue.
