EXPLANATION:

Hydra discharges nematocysts into its prey and paralyzes it and then kills the food organism through it. Then it was taken by the Hydra through the outgrowth i.e. the tentacles, which has glutathione in it.

It is the main mechanism of digestion. The food was feed through the mouth of Hydra. When there is insufficient food Hydras feed on the organic material of the substrate. This behaviour of Hydra is somewhat abnormal. Their digestion is intracellular as well as extracellular.
