WUCHERIA (W.Bancrofti and W.Malaya) is the filarial worm that causes filariasis  in humans.

Diagnostic symptoms :

*collection of fluid causwes swelling in arms, breasts, legs and genetial region.

*Inflammation in lower limbs, resulting in deformities.

It is transmitted to a healthy person through the bite of female mosquito vector, culex.
