In a flower after fertilisation, the fertilised egg divides into a ball of cells that forms an embryo. The embryo remains in the centre of the ovule. The surrounding tissue called the endosperm supplies the embryo with food. The OVULE develops into a SEED and the wall around it hardens to make a tough seed coat. After fertilisation the OVARY WALL develops into a FRUIT which encloses the seed.
