The dendrites pick up the nerve impulses from receptor and the axon passes the impulse to another neuron.

Dendritic cells (DC's)
are antigen-presenting cells (also known as accessory cells) of the mammalian immune system.

The main function of these nerve cells is to process antigen material and present it on the cell surface to the T cells of the immune system.

They act as messengers between the innate and the adaptive immune systems.

They are parts of nerve cells.

Axon.    ......................                                                      When a nerve impulse reaches the end of an axon, the axon releases chemicals called neurotransmitters. Neurotransmitters travel across the synapse between the axon and the dendrite of the next neuron. Neurotransmitters bind to the membrane of the dendrite.
