Main respiratory organs of human body are nostril, nasal chamber, pharynx and larynx, trachea, bronchi, bronchioles, alveoli, lungs and diaphragm.

NOSTRILS=>Human being has a pair of nostrils. Muscous glands are found on inner lining of nasal passage which secrete mucus. Mucus keeps this passage moist and helps in trapping dust particles and microbes. Nasal chamber leads to larynx via pharynx.

Trachea=>Larynx connect pharynx to trachea. A flap epiglottis is covers the air passage while swallowing the food. The trachea has C shaped cartilaginous rings for support and these don't allow trachea to collapse even when there is no air in it

Thoracic Cavity=>The trachea divides into two bronchi in thoracic Cavity. These left and right bronchus inside the lung. The bronchioles further divide to take the form of fine alveolar ducts and open into small alveoli or air sacs. The wall of alveoli is very thin and has network of blood capillaries. These blood vessels helps in transportation of gases. Alveoli form the respiratory surface of the lungs and increase its surface area many fold.

Lungs=>There is a pair of spongy pink bag like structure called lungs. Contraction and relaxation of the muscles of the wall of rib of cage increases and decreases the volume of lungs, hence air rushes in or out.

Diaphragm=>The dome shaped diaphragm becomes flat during inhalation. This is the floor of the thoracic Cavity.
